ScotShot LLC - USCCA Certified Instructor - Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals (CCHDF).
This is a USCCA accredited and certificated course. It runs over two days.

ABOUT USCCA CERTIFIED INSTRUCTOR TRAINING
USCCA Certified Instructor training is designed for experienced, skilled shooters who are committed to passing on their Defensive Focus, Skills, and Mindset to individuals who are motivated to seek training with firearms as defensive tools. The course teaches Instructor Candidates the USCCA instruction method, with an emphasis on positive reinforcement and student development. The course comprises an eight-hour online eLearning portion, and a two-day classroom and range portion.

Once certified, Instructors will be able to teach four pre-defined USCCA courses:

  • USCCA Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals
  • USCCA Basics of Defensive Pistol
  • USCCA Concealed Carry Fundamentals
  • USCCA Home Defense
Instructors may also teach from the seven "Mini-Classes", each of which lasts approximately two hours. Many of these Mini-Classes do not require live-fire or access to a firing range. In addition, Instructors may construct their own classes from the CCHDF slide-deck, and register these as certified USCCA classes.

THIS COURSE HAS PRE-REQUISITES
The class requires a minimum of five Instructor Candidates to run. Instructor Candidates must have taken and completed the eLearning module before they can be accepted into the in-person module.

PART 1: ONLINE MODULE
The first part of USCCA Instructor Certification is an eight-hour online module. This familiarizes the Candidate with the CCHDF material, and prepares them for success in the classroom portion.

PART 2: USCCA CERTIFIED INSTRUCTOR, CCHDF
In the in-person component, Instructor Candidates use mock class presentations and teach-back exercises to demonstrate the skills necessary to teach the various aspects of the CCHDF student class, including safe gun handling, the will to prevail, situational awareness, how to use cover and concealment, how to summon and talk to police, how to "think like a prosecutor", how to claim your right to silence and likely legal aftermath of use of lethal force in a life-protecting situation. On the range, Instructor Candidates learn how to set up the range for the USCCA course of fire, and tutor one another through this. We conclude the course with the Instructor Candidate examination.

INSTRUCTORS MUST TEACH TO MAINTAIN CERTIFICATION
Once certified, USCCA Instructors are required to be active trainers. To maintain certification, Instructors need to teach, or co-teach, a minimum of 20 students per year. These can be in full or Mini-Classes. Please ask for clarification, if required.
